Gleeds is seeking a highly experienced Principal Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding team in Preston. As a key member of our defence sector team, you will play a critical role in the support and delivery of crucial defence-related projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Contract administration and contract advice
  • Ensure adherence to processes and procedures for issuing works in line with contracts
  • Manage scope of changes and highlight commercial impact
  • Maintain awareness of key issues that can affect cost/time/quality
  • Identify potential financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
  • Conduct value engineering assessments to ensure cost-effective solutions

About You

  • We are seeking candidates with relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably in the Nuclear/Civil engineering/Engineering sectors
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical industry in an infrastructure/defence environment is desirable
  • Comfortable communicating and negotiating with various levels of stakeholders
  • Ideal candidate will be HNC/HND or Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying/Cost Management/Construction Law or similar/relevant discipline
