About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. As an integral member of our Police Mental Health Joint Response Car (PMHJRC), you will work closely with Cambridgeshire Constabulary officers to provide an immediate response to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' mental state and risk, determining whether they are safe to be managed in the community.
  • Initiate plans for ongoing care, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and agencies.
  • Provide expert clinical guidance and support to officers on scene, ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Liaise with other health and social care providers to ensure seamless care pathways and effective service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local agencies and services, promoting effective collaboration and communication.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest mental health legislation, policies, and best practices, applying this knowledge to inform clinical decision-making.
Requirements
  • NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Post-registration experience working with individuals in mental health crisis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
