Job Overview
As an Advanced Mental Health Practitioner working in the Police Mental Health Joint Response Car, you will work alongside Cambridgeshire Constabulary officers to provide an immediate response to people in the community experiencing a mental health crisis.
Working pm – Midnight (Sun – Thurs) and pm – am (Fri – Sat), the PMHJRC responds to calls made to the Police, identified as having a primary mental health need. The Advanced MH Practitioner will carry out a brief triage to ascertain whether a person can safely remain at home, avoiding unnecessary attendance at acute hospitals, offer safety planning, signposting, and referrals into MH services if needed.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will work closely with Cambridgeshire Constabulary to respond to calls from, or concerning people in a mental health crisis.
The role of the Advanced Mental Health Practitioner will be to triage mental health presentations, assess need and risk, and make collaborative plans for appropriate follow-up care as appropriate.
Please note - the successful candidate will undergo police vetting as part of the employment checks.
