About the Role

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Child Mental Health Specialist to join its Neurodevelopmental Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong team and work ethic, accompanied by an ability to work under considerable pressure at times.

Job Summary

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced professional to provide specialist clinical psychology services to children and adolescents with mental health difficulties. The postholder will be responsible for providing assessments, formulations, and interventions for clients across various care settings.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist psychological assessments of children and adolescents referred to the CAMHS team, utilizing complex data from various sources.
  • Formulate and implement plans for formal psychological treatments or management of client mental health problems, drawing on different explanatory models.
  • Implement a range of psychological interventions for individual clients, families, or carers, adjusting and refining psychological formulations as needed.
  • Communicate complex information effectively to service users, their families, careers, and other professional colleagues.

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess excellent assessment, formulation, evaluation, and treatment skills, along with effective communication abilities. A postgraduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, registration with the HCPC, and experience working with a wide variety of client groups are essential. Experience in teaching, training, and/or supervision is desirable.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is £65,000-£80,000, depending on experience. The position offers a competitive benefits package, including opportunities for personal and professional development.
