Job Overview

As a Mental Health Crisis Response Specialist working in the Police Mental Health Joint Response Car, you will collaborate with Cambridgeshire Constabulary officers to provide an immediate response to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis in the community.

Working in a dynamic environment, you will respond to calls made to the Police that have been identified as having a primary mental health need. Your role will involve conducting a brief triage to determine whether an individual can safely remain at home, offering safety planning, signposting, and referrals into mental health services as needed.

Main Duties:

  • Collaborate with Cambridgeshire Constabulary to respond to calls from or concerning individuals in a mental health crisis.
  • Triage mental health presentations, assess need and risk, and develop collaborative plans for appropriate follow-up care.
