About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health First Responder to join our pioneering First Response Service. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing 24-hour access to mental health services for individuals of all ages experiencing a mental health crisis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop crisis and safety plans to ensure appropriate support is identified for individuals in crisis.
  • Work collaboratively with other mental health services, police, ambulance services, and local authorities to develop short-term contingency plans.
  • Provide evidence-based clinical interventions, making autonomous clinical decisions about own professional practice.
  • Develop, plan, and implement brief care and treatment interventions for individual patients within First Response.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Mental Health Nurse Qualification or Social Work Qualification OR adult/LD nursing qualification with mental health experience.
  • Current NMC/HCPC Registration.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Experience of working with people presenting in mental health crisis, multi-agency working, and working within a multicultural framework.
