About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager to join our team at Aviva. As a key member of our Construction Insurance team, you will be responsible for managing the underwriting of CAR risks, including international and UK risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to drive business growth and profitability
  • Manage a team of underwriters to ensure accurate and timely risk assessment and pricing
  • Collaborate with risk engineers, claims specialists, and other stakeholders to ensure effective risk management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients to drive business growth and retention
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and developments to ensure Aviva remains competitive

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in underwriting CAR risks, including international and UK risks
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction risks, including engineered timber and frame risks
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with brokers and clients
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on delivering results
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions
