Job Title: Underwriting Manager; International CAR

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager to join our team in Aviva Construction. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for managing the performance of CAR & Facilities within the Construction segment. You will have a proven track record in underwriting CAR risks with knowledge of writing both international and UK risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the performance of CAR & Facilities within the Construction segment
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to drive growth and profitability
  • Collaborate with risk engineers, claims specialists, and other stakeholders to ensure effective risk management
  • Provide training and development opportunities for junior underwriting staff
  • Represent Aviva in the marketplace, engaging with producers, clients, and peers

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in underwriting CAR risks with knowledge of writing both international and UK risks
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills, with the ability to review submissions and understand Aviva's appetite
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with brokers and clients
  • Self-motivated and willing to train/mentor junior members of the team
  • Proficient IT skills
