GSL Education is seeking a compassionate Behavioural Support Specialist to join a supportive school in Ringwood. In this rewarding role, you will play a key part in promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being among students.

As a Behavioural Support Specialist, you will collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff to create an environment where students feel safe and encouraged to succeed academically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students with behavioural difficulties, fostering a nurturing and understanding environment.
  • Implement individualised interventions and strategies to promote positive behaviour.
  • Assist in classroom management, helping teachers maintain a conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Monitor and document student progress, offering feedback to teachers and contributing to behaviour management plans.
  • Engage in proactive communication with parents and staff to ensure consistent support for students.
  • Stay informed about the latest behavioural support practices and engage in professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with behavioural challenges; prior experience as a Behaviour Support Specialist in an educational setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships with students and staff.
  • A patient, empathetic approach to supporting students in overcoming their behavioural obstacles.
