Maternal Care Specialist

About the Role
The Maternity Support Worker at Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will provide essential care and support to new mothers and their babies in the community.
Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, you will deliver high-quality care, educate families on good parenting models, and enable them to care for their babies independently.
You will work under the direction of a qualified midwife, contributing to the success of the team in delivering an excellent maternity service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver care to women and babies in the home environment
- Liaise with midwives to address any concerns regarding mother and baby well-being
- Develop knowledge and understanding of newborn care and provide practical support to mothers
- Assist with antenatal clinics, Parent Education Classes, and safeguarding concerns
- Develop relevant clerical and IT skills to support the community midwifery team
Requirements
- Care Certificate
- UK Driving License
- Experience in caring for others or providing customer services
- Flexible attitude and behavior to support team working and delivery of objectives
- Understanding of the role of the Community Maternity Support Worker
