Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled midwife to support our junior workforce in a teaching environment as a Midwifery Education Specialist. The successful candidate will have experience in mentoring, drug rounds, and helping junior staff achieve competencies in a safe learning environment. Key responsibilities include working closely with the Neonatal Unit team, supporting homebirth services, birthing centres, and high-risk maternal and fetal medicine service. They will also deliver local training, day-to-day teaching, participate in safety huddles, develop electronic training databases, provide mentorship and coaching, and produce relevant teaching material. The role requires maintaining clinical competence and expertise in all midwifery practice areas and having a strong visible presence within the maternity unit. The successful candidate will be part of a team that prioritizes wellbeing and satisfaction, with access to a wellbeing hub, onsite gym, and other resources.

This permanent post involves actively participating in maintaining their own professional development and identifying their own training needs. With an estimated annual salary of £60,000 - £80,000 depending on experience, this is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced midwife to make a real difference in the lives of patients and staff.
