Support Care Specialist

Position Overview
Apollo Home Healthcare is seeking dedicated individuals to join our specialized care team. We are looking for candidates who possess valuable experience and skills, and who are eager to learn and actively participate in our mission to provide exceptional care.
Our focus is on individuals who lead active lifestyles and can contribute positively to our service user's rehabilitation journey.
We value self-motivated, punctual, and proactive individuals who can translate these qualities into their professional roles.
Our service user is a young gentleman who requires comprehensive clinical support for managing a spinal injury, including bowel and catheter care, awareness of autonomic dysreflexia, and pain management. He needs assistance on a 2:1 basis throughout the day and night.
As part of his rehabilitation team, you will be expected to engage actively in his recovery process, supporting him in attending appointments and continuing his rehabilitation exercises at home. It is crucial that you can manage these responsibilities effectively.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of the dedicated care team, you will play a significant role in facilitating community access and supporting the service user in enjoying his hobbies and interests, such as gym visits, dining out, and socializing with friends.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with personal care and moving and handling needs.
- Addressing clinical care requirements and supporting rehabilitation activities.
- Engaging in household duties and conducting stock checks.
During nighttime hours, your duties will involve:
- Providing personal care and repositioning support.
- Conducting clinical observations and addressing clinical needs as necessary.
- Creating a calm environment and performing light duties when possible.
Shift Availability
We offer the following shift patterns:
- Part-Time Days: 2 shifts per week from 7am to 7pm, including weekends.
- Full-Time Nights: 3 shifts per week from 7pm to 7am, including weekends.
Candidates must be available for alternate weekend shifts.
Compensation
Pay rates are as follows:
- Weekdays: Competitive hourly rate
- Weeknights: Competitive hourly rate
- Weekends: Competitive hourly rate
- Bank Holidays: Competitive hourly rate

Job Responsibilities
The role of a Support Care Specialist involves working independently in the home of the service user, providing care and support that includes personal, social, and domestic assistance while adhering to the individual care and support plan.
The primary goal of this position is to enable service users to maintain their independence and safety in their own homes.
You will provide care and support in a professional, discreet, and compassionate manner, ensuring the service user's right to privacy and dignity is always upheld.
Experience Requirements
Essential
- Minimum of 3 months prior care experience
- Valid driver's license
- Comfort around dogs
Desirable
- Experience in spinal management
- Background in physiotherapy or rehabilitation settings
