About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-focused Medical Administration Trainee to join our team at Getting In Limited. As an Apprentice Medical Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting the practice clinical team by undertaking all aspects of administration within the General practice environment.

Liaising with different healthcare professionals, services, and patients, developing key skills to enable effective working as part of the practice’s multidisciplinary team is a crucial aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and Signpost Patients: Process and signpost patients to the appropriate healthcare professional, depending on the presenting condition.
  • Phone Call Handling: Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers’ requests appropriately.
  • Patient Requests: Process patient requests for appointments and repeat prescriptions.
  • Communication: Initiate contact with and respond to requests from patients, team members, and external agencies.
  • Data Entry: Enter read/SNOMED CT code data, photocopy documentation, and input data into patients’ healthcare records.
  • System Searches: Direct requests for information, manage queries, and carry out system searches as requested.
  • Work Environment: Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times and monitor the reception area and noticeboards.
  • Clinical Staff Support: Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested and undertake mandatory training and induction programmes.

This is a large NHS GP practice employing 40 staff and offering a range of community-based GP services in the Dingle area of Liverpool. As a training practice, staff have a strong focus on personal development and are looking to offer an apprenticeship role as an entry route for people looking to enter the NHS as a career option.

The estimated salary for this role is around £18,500 - £20,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications.
