Paediatric Metabolic Disease Specialist Nurse

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Metabolic Disease Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). As a key member of our paediatric metabolic CNS team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with rare metabolic disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate inpatient and outpatient care for patients with complex metabolic conditions.
- Organise emergency alerts and illness management for patients at risk of acute deterioration.
- Conduct specialist tests, investigations, and infusions to diagnose and manage metabolic disorders.
- Provide education and support to healthcare professionals, patients, and their families to promote understanding and self-management of metabolic conditions.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care and support for patients and their families.

Person Specification:
- Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN) or equivalent qualification.
- Current NMC registration.
- Post-registration experience in paediatric nursing, preferably in a metabolic or related specialty.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with experience of working in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
