Paediatric Inherited Metabolic Diseases Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Paediatric Inherited Metabolic Diseases to join our dedicated team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients with inherited metabolic diseases.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert clinical opinion on a wide range of problems within Paediatric Inherited Metabolic Diseases.
- Deliver safe and effective care to patients with inherited metabolic diseases, including those requiring tertiary and quaternary services.
- Work closely with specialist clinical biochemistry and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care pathways.
- Develop and maintain effective two-way communication between specialist centre and local hospitals, other professionals, patients, and their families.
- Contribute to the development of tertiary services as part of a managed clinical network for the South West of England.
- Participate in clinical governance and audit activities to ensure high-quality care and continuous improvement.
- Engage in research and academic activities to advance the field of Paediatric Inherited Metabolic Diseases.
- Provide teaching and training to medical students, trainees, and other healthcare professionals.
- Lead and manage a specialist service, including organizing efficient and smooth running of the service.

Requirements- MRCPCH by examination or equivalent.
- Full GMC registration.
- On the GMC's Specialist Register OR within six months of CCT at time of scheduled interview.
- Valid Level 3 Safeguarding Training.
- Paediatric Basic Life Support training.
