Paediatric Inherited Metabolic Diseases Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Paediatric Inherited Metabolic Diseases Consultant to join our esteemed team at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. This is an exciting opportunity to provide expert clinical care and contribute to the advancement of metabolic medicine within our renowned NHS Trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive tertiary services to both inpatients and outpatients with inherited metabolic diseases (IMDs).
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of managed clinical network services, ensuring seamless patient care across various healthcare settings.
- Maintain the highest standards of clinical practice in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of IMDs, adhering to best practices and evidence-based guidelines.
- Foster strong communication channels with a diverse range of stakeholders, including medical professionals, patients, and their families, ensuring clear and empathetic interactions.
- Lead metabolic outreach clinics and provide essential clinical support to healthcare providers in the community.
Essential Requirements
- Possess a MRCPCH qualification and be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Hold a Specialist Register listing in Paediatric Inherited Metabolic Diseases.
- Demonstrate extensive experience in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of IMDs.
- Exhibit strong independent work ethic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Have completed training in safeguarding practices and basic life support.

- Possess a comprehensive understanding of research principles and methodologies.
- Actively participate in ongoing research projects within the field of metabolic medicine.
- Have published peer-reviewed research papers in reputable scientific journals.
