About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Offshore Surveyor to join our team at DNV. As an Offshore Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting surveys and verifications onboard offshore units, wind farm support vessels, and ocean-going ships to ensure compliance with DNV Rules for Classification, statutory requirements, and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct surveys and verifications onboard offshore units, wind farm support vessels, and ocean-going ships to ensure compliance with DNV Rules for Classification, statutory requirements, and international standards.
  • Inspect structures and equipment, witness testing, audit procedures, and review documentation.
  • Verify offshore units in accordance with UK HSE legislation.
  • Report survey activities in DNV's proprietary software and Microsoft Office environment.
  • Liaise with ship and unit crew and management to facilitate survey execution.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customers' business, processes, designs, developments, and documentation.
  • Ensure own competence and career development within the DNV competency framework.
  • Assist in service delivery improvement by communicating internal/external feedback.
  • Provide assertive advice and guidance in areas of expertise.
  • Manage own time to meet survey workload demands.

Requirements

  • Master or Bachelor's degree in engineering (Naval Architecture, Maritime, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering) or Certificate of Competency (Master Mariner or Engineer Class I - Motor).
  • Offshore industrial experience/senior technical experience is an advantage.
  • Experiences in electrical and control systems, management system auditing are advantageous.
  • Physical abilities necessary to perform regular functions of the job, such as climbing pilot ladders, tank inspections, crew boat launches, voyage surveys.
  • Flexibility to work offshore and outside normal working hours.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and West Europe region.
  • Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Independent, self-organized team player with a positive customer-oriented mindset.
  • Valid UK driver's license.
