Position Summary

As an Offshore Inspection Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to support both onshore and offshore project preparation tasks, which include managing online data recording systems, conducting offline data editing, and ensuring quality control for structural and pipeline inspections. While stationed offshore, you will collaborate closely with a team of Inspectors, Surveyors, Engineers, Data Processors, and ROV personnel to guarantee that all inspection and survey equipment operates effectively and that data is collected both efficiently and accurately. Regular communication with the onboard team and, when necessary, clients will be essential. You will also coordinate with the MAI Client Deliverables Team based in Aberdeen, who will provide continuous support throughout the project lifecycle.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess formal qualifications at a minimum of HND level in Engineering or IT, along with a valid CSWIP 3.4u or 3.3u certification. Previous offshore experience working with ROVs in the capacity of Inspection Engineer and/or Coordinator within the UKCS is required, as well as proficiency in MS Office applications.

Your role will involve ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable execution of all ROV platform and vessel-based pipeline and structural inspections. You will be responsible for quality control of inspection data recording, real-time video data, and ensuring that all data sheets are accurately completed. Any anomalies identified during online and offline inspections must be recorded and reported promptly to the Inspection Coordinator, Superintendent/OVM, and Client, based on the significance of the findings and anomaly criteria.

Additionally, you will assist in project reporting and delivery in accordance with Fugro and client specifications, documenting any variations to the work scope or procedures and informing the Client Deliverables department. Promoting teamwork at the worksite among all involved parties and maintaining effective communication, especially during shift handovers, will be crucial.
