Role Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the inspection focal point offshore, overseeing and managing all inspection activities. This role involves conducting visual inspections of plant equipment as required and ensuring compliance with Oceaneering and Client codes of practice, strategies, and relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities

Main Duties

- Assist the line manager in executing work scopes as outlined in the client contract.

- Evaluate defects and anomalies in line with Oceaneering and/or client anomaly procedures.

- Report directly to the Offshore Installation Manager regarding the coordination of all inspection activities.

- Collaborate with asset personnel to ensure effective scheduling, planning, and availability of inspection activities.

- Conduct all agreed offshore inspections within the parameters of the Oceaneering issued letter of authority, ensuring timely implementation and completion.

- Perform visual and NDT inspections as necessary.

- Provide remedial recommendations as needed and inspect subsequent repair work for acceptance.

- Generate inspection reports within established timelines using approved templates and forms.

- Supervise Oceaneering personnel and third-party contractors while offshore, ensuring all parties comprehend the work scope and associated risks, and that tasks are completed as specified.

- Review and, where applicable, sign off on inspection reports completed by NDT Technicians or third-party personnel.

- Issue status reports as required, including Daily, Handover, End of Trip, and Certificate of Examination.

- Participate in meetings and reviews as necessary, such as morning calls, planning sessions, and anomaly meetings.

- Maintain logs and update registers in accordance with Oceaneering and client procedures while offshore.

- Assist with additional duties as directed by the Oceaneering onshore team or Client Integrity Engineer.

Required Qualifications

- HNC in a relevant Engineering discipline or ONC/NVQ Level 3 (such as City & Guilds).

- A minimum of 10 years' experience in plant and equipment inspection.

- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, codes/standards, materials, plant operations, and processes.

- ASME Plant Inspector Level 2 and/or API 510 & API 570 certifications.

- UKAS RG2 Category 3 compatibility.

- IRATA Rope Access Level 3 and NDT Certifications in DPI, ECI, MPI, and UT 3.1 & 3.2.
