About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Technician to join our maintenance team at Global Edge Group's Ethylene Plant in Fife, Scotland.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering world-class maintenance, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the First Line Supervisor to enhance safety capacity using Personal Safety Management System tools.
  • Tackle various mechanical maintenance challenges with resilience, ownership, and innovative solutions.
  • Partner with the operations team to execute maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Provide input during planning phases and After Action Reviews to continuously improve processes.
  • Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis and collaborate with operations and engineering teams to prevent recurrence.
About You

To excel in this role, you will have:

  • Completed an NVQ Level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent in a Mechanical trade (an HNC in Mechanical Engineering is advantageous).
  • Possessed experience in the Oil and Gas or Petrochemical industry.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate field conditions and recommend solutions.
  • Been adept at working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Showed a passion for eliminating waste in maintenance processes and driving continuous improvement.
  • Been proficient in IT systems, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), with SAP experience being advantageous.
  • Adapted effectively to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and changing priorities, including the flexibility to work out of hours when required.
