About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy Coordinator to join our team at St Luke's (Cheshire) Hospice. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide spiritual, pastoral, and religious care to patients, families, and colleagues, ensuring that our services are inclusive, of high quality, sustainable, and visible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide spiritual, pastoral, and religious care to patients, families, and colleagues, regardless of their religion or belief group.
  • Work as a flexible and responsive member of the wider multidisciplinary team, contributing to patient care through thoughtful and appropriate support.
  • Be a listening ear to colleagues and others, and to those seeking support prior to and following bereavement.
  • Provide resources that enable the Hospice community to share in wider celebrations, Remembrance Services, and other national events.
  • Develop and lead reflective remembrance gatherings and other spiritual care initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the wider Hospice team, including medical staff, nursing teams, and administrative colleagues, to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local faith leaders and community groups to promote spiritual care and support.
Requirements
  • Essential qualifications include completion of or substantive progress in an appropriate course of theological study, including training for Ordination, Reader, or Licensed Pastoral Worker, or equivalent qualifications within a different faith or denominational setting.
  • Endorsement from a recognised religion or belief group or community, if applicable.
  • Experience of providing holistic pastoral support to individuals in distress or crisis, with a clear understanding of adult and children safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion principles and their application in a healthcare setting.

  • Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evening work and potentially being part of a Sunday rota.
