Senior Consultant Psychiatrist Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with mental health conditions.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a new 8-bedded female Enhanced Care Unit, based in Derby. The unit will provide a safe and stable environment for patients with mental health conditions who require intensive treatment and support as an inpatient. As a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist, you will lead the team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive high-quality care and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with mental health conditions
  • Lead the team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive high-quality care and support
  • Develop and implement clinical pathways and protocols to improve patient outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of the trust's mental health services and ensure that they are aligned with national guidelines and best practice

Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Consultant Psychiatrist who has a strong track record of providing high-quality care and support to patients with mental health conditions. The ideal candidate will have:

MB BS or equivalent medical qualificationFully registered with GMC with licenseApproved clinician statusExcellent knowledge of specialityExcellent oral and written communication skills in EnglishAbility to meet duties under MHA and MCAAbility to work in and lead a teamParticipated in research and service provision
