Solar Technical Support Manager Job Description

Workshop Recruitment is seeking an experienced Solar Technical Support Manager to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to customers, ensuring their issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical or solar installations, with a passion for moving into an office-based role or looking for a challenge in a technical support position. They will work closely with the Electrical Installation Manager to resolve issues onsite and support the completion of installations for customers.

The role involves:

  • Providing technical support to customers via phone, email, and online chat
  • Working alongside the Electrical Installation Manager to resolve issues onsite and support the completion of installations
  • Manning the technical support phone line and diagnosing issues over the phone
  • Supporting the management and administration of the CRM
  • Liaising with installers and customers to arrange installations and technical work
  • Remote troubleshooting and accessing customers' systems to identify and resolve issues
  • Close working relationship with the sales office and warehouse team to assist with technical enquiries and support production as required
  • Supporting the ongoing development of existing products and new product introduction
  • Supporting warranty returns by tracking faulty equipment and facilitating the completion of the return and replacement/refund process

Requirements

  • Strong technical knowledge of solar installations and electrical systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills, particularly in spreadsheets and databases
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure/cost of poor quality
