Advanced Pharmacist

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Specialist Pharmacist to join our Cardiovascular Pharmacy Team at King's College Hospital. This is a unique opportunity to work in a renowned specialist cardiac centre, offering both secondary and tertiary care to patients across South East London, South East England, and beyond.
Main Responsibilities- Deputise for the Principal Pharmacist, Cardiovascular Care Group, and act as a specialist role model and expert in medical management within the group.
- Lead and manage clinical pharmacy services in the Cardiovascular Care Group in conjunction with the Principal Pharmacist.
- Develop and participate in outpatient clinics to deliver and promote high-quality, cost-effective, and patient-focused pharmaceutical care.
- Actively participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds, delivering and promoting high-quality, cost-effective, patient-focused pharmaceutical care.
- Work with the Associate Chief Pharmacist, Clinical Services, to develop, manage, and support non-medical prescribing within pharmacy and the Trust.
- Provide specialist pharmacist input into the Trust Non-Medical Prescribing Group, including the management of Patient Group Directions and Written Instructions.
- Develop, implement, and audit local guidelines.
- Supervise and train pharmacy staff at ward level.
- Provide education and training of healthcare professionals within and outside the Trust.
- Financial reporting, drug usage, and expenditure forecasting, drug budget management, and work on CIPs (cost improvement programmes).
- Participate in practice and clinical research and audit.
- MPharm (Masters Degree)
- Registered Pharmacist (1 year competency assessed and examined professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council)
- Postgraduate Diploma in pharmacy practice or equivalent qualification/experience
- Specialist clinical knowledge and skills relevant to the area of practice
- Experience of working with senior healthcare professionals outside of pharmacy
- Experience of supervising others
- Experience of protocol/guideline development
- Experience of multi-disciplinary team working
- Ability to provide highly complex information on medicines use, clinical pharmacy, and financial issues to all levels of healthcare professionals
- Able to implement and manage change
- Ability to work well under pressure by prioritizing and managing time effectively
- Registered independent prescriber or willingness to complete
- Problem-solving skills
- Able to motivate self and others
- Member of the RPS faculty
- Demonstration of advanced practice using evidence mapped to the RPS Advanced Practice Framework
