About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacist to lead our team in the development and delivery of advanced therapies, clinical trials, and CIVAS services at Guy's Hospital site. As the Accountable Pharmacist for Aseptic Preparation and Dispensing, you will be responsible for overseeing the unit's capacity plan, ensuring safe working levels, and implementing contingency plans as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Management
- Lead and motivate a production team to manage demand, resource, and quality in a robust manner.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance and efficiency.
- Aseptic Processing and Capacity Management
- Oversee the aseptic preparation and dispensing of medicines from the Guy's Pharmacy Containment and Aseptic unit.
- Monitor and manage unit capacity to ensure safe working levels and implement contingency plans as needed.
- Quality Systems and Risk Management
- Oversee the Quality Management system, monitoring metrics and implementing contingency plans as needed.
- Identify, escalate, and manage risk through Datix reports.
- Clinical Trials and Service Development
- Lead the delivery of clinical trials requiring aseptic preparation from the Guy's Pharmacy Containment and Aseptic unit.
- Develop a team with the required knowledge and expertise to deliver advanced therapies to Trust patients.
- Strategic Development and Collaboration
- Collaborate with the Associate Chief Pharmacist to review new products and requests.
- Contribute to the development of the Aseptic Transformation programme to ensure patient need can be met over the next 10-15 years.
