Job Title: Advanced Pharmacist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Pharmacist to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in leading and developing specialist clinical pharmacy services in Gastroenterology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage clinical pharmacy services in Gastroenterology, working closely with the Principal Pharmacist.
  • Provide expert clinical pharmacy input to the care of patients within Gastroenterology, including interface and discharge liaison and support.
  • Act as a specialist role model and expert in the medical management within Gastroenterology, participating in multidisciplinary ward rounds and outpatient clinics.
  • Develop and implement local guidelines, supervise and train pharmacy staff, and provide education and training to healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to financial reporting, drug usage and expenditure forecasting, and work on cost improvement programmes.
Requirements:
  • MPharm (Masters Degree) and registered pharmacist with 1 year competency assessed and examined professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in pharmacy practice or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Specialist clinical knowledge and skills relevant to the area of practice.
  • Experience of working with senior healthcare professionals outside of pharmacy, supervising others, and developing protocols/guidelines.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritizing and managing time effectively, and influencing junior medical staff and the multidisciplinary team.
