We are seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Pharmacist to join our Cardiovascular Pharmacy Team at King's College Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-focused pharmaceutical care to our patients.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in the Cardiovascular Care Group, working closely with senior healthcare professionals to develop and implement evidence-based clinical pharmacy services.

As an Advanced Pharmacist, you will be expected to demonstrate advanced practice using evidence mapped to the RPS Advanced Practice Framework. You will also be required to participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds, antibiotic ward rounds, and other multidisciplinary meetings to deliver and promote high-quality, cost-effective, patient-focused pharmaceutical care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the Cardiovascular Care Group
  • Develop and implement evidence-based clinical pharmacy services
  • Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds and other multidisciplinary meetings
  • Deliver and promote high-quality, cost-effective, patient-focused pharmaceutical care
  • Support the Principal Pharmacist in monitoring drug expenditure and providing accurate expenditure information
  • Develop and implement policies to control drug expenditure and ensure cost-effective prescribing
Requirements
  • MPharm (Masters Degree)
  • Registered Pharmacist (1 year competency assessed and examined professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in pharmacy practice or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Specialist clinical knowledge and skills relevant to area of practice
  • Experience of working with senior healthcare professionals outside of pharmacy
  • Experience of supervising others
  • Experience of protocol/guideline development
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary team working
  • Ability to provide highly complex information on medicines use, clinical pharmacy, and financial issues to all levels of healthcare professionals
  • Ability to implement and manage change
  • Ability to work well under pressure by prioritizing and managing time effectively
  • Registered independent prescriber or willingness to complete
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Able to motivate self and others
  • Member of the RPS faculty
