Job Title: Key Account Director

Job Summary:

The Key Account Director will be responsible for managing a portfolio of key accounts with five and six figure contract value. The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a salesperson, with a strong consultative approach and ability to cultivate relationships with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a portfolio of key accounts with five and six figure contract value.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with multiple senior stakeholders with a consultative approach.
  • Achieving and exceeding agreed show and personal revenue and profit targets.
  • Undertaking research to understand the market objectives, aims and ambitions of your client base.
  • Work closely with and within each business to identify its aims, objectives, and requirements.
  • Tailor opportunities available, creating strong partnership propositions.
  • Identify and secure new sales opportunities with potential for developing into key accounts.
  • Work closely with other departments, content, marketing, and sales to operate as one team.
  • Attend competitor events and meet face to face with clients in Africa and around the world.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a salesperson.
  • Experience within Oil and Gas, working with government and in Africa preferred, but not essential.
  • Experience in handling high value contracts – often up to six figure sums.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Demonstratable experience of regularly dealing with senior stakeholders up to and including C-Suite executives, Blue-chip companies, oil and gas, Government officials.
  • Proven experience developing, managing and building relationships with key accounts.
  • Commercially minded and aware of value propositions; skilled at selling non-tangible products or services.
  • Ability to build relationships with several stakeholders in complex matrix organisations.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage heavy workloads with the drive to exceed targets.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively, anticipate obstacles and find effective solutions.
  • Ability to travel, without restriction throughout most countries especially Africa.
  • Previous experience in events/oil and gas/within Africa is desirable.
  • Able to communicate and network effectively with people across many different industries and levels of seniority.
