Project Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team at Schindler Group. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of modernisation projects, ensuring timely completion, maximum efficiency, and best-demonstrated practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the interface with key clients and designers during the project
  • Deliver large projects on time and within budget in a safe and controlled environment
  • Plan, monitor, and coordinate all technical aspects throughout each phase of the project
  • Ensure projects are progressed throughout all phases of the tender negotiation and contract delivery
  • Act as a single point of contact for customers on each project
  • Ensure site field employees are fully trained and briefed in site project procedures
  • Manage the permit to work system on site
  • Coordinate with subordinates and other parties/subcontractors on site
  • Review contract specifications and coordinate with order processing and engineering
  • Manage contract variations and contractual terms and conditions
  • Control hours and monitor performance issues
  • Assist in the valuation of monthly accounts
  • Provide in-process quality checks
  • Achieve zero defects in our own work and that of subcontractors
Requirements:
  • Experience with major repairs/modernisation and/or installation on local projects within the Lift or equivalent industry
  • Thorough knowledge of design and construction processes
  • Management/Supervision, commercial, technical, and installation background
  • Knowledge of Lifts and Escalators and methods of operation
  • Previous experience in managing field personnel
  • Excellent planning and leadership skills
  • Good communication skills at all levels
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
