Job Summary

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is seeking a Clinical Fellow to join the Cardiology team at the Bristol Heart Institute. This 12-month fixed-term position offers an excellent opportunity for a doctor to develop their skills and knowledge in Cardiology.

The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing secondary and tertiary cardiac services in a purpose-built environment. The Bristol Heart Institute has four catheterisation laboratories and a hybrid catheter laboratory/surgical theatre, and provides the 24/7 primary angioplasty service for the immediate catchment and the wider network.

The post will be focused on service provision, with no out-of-hours or on-call duties. There will also be an opportunity to work in the new Cardiology same-day emergency care unit.

Main Responsibilities

The Clinical Fellow will be responsible for assessing, initially resuscitating, and stabilising acutely sick patients. They will participate as a member of the cardiac arrest team and understand audit and governance processes.

Requirements

  • Registered with the General Medical Council (UK)
  • Advanced life support provider
  • Evidence of entitlement to live and work in the UK
