Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to take on a leadership role within our Cardiology Pathway team at the Bristol Royal Infirmary.

The successful candidate will have advanced skills in treating and managing complex patients, with a passion for delivering patient-centred care. As a leader, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering the Physiotherapy service across the Cardiology Pathway, working closely with the Team Lead Occupational Therapist and other pathway leads.

In this role, you will be required to work unsupervised, prioritise tasks, and delegate effectively. You will also contribute to clinical education, provide high-quality patient care, and participate in audit and quality improvement initiatives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Therapy Technicians in providing a seven-day-a-week service to patients.
  • Evaluate patient services across the specialties and assist in developing, planning, and progressing service provision.
  • Assess and treat patients with complex and/or chronic presentations, determining clinical diagnosis and treatment indicated.
  • Provide highly specialist advice and training to Physiotherapists, students, and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • Health Professions Council registered
  • Relevant cardiology experience and a variety of experience in acute core areas.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development and Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work unsupervised, plan, prioritise, and delegate
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Clinical supervision of junior staff and experience of discharge planning

Salary

The estimated salary for this role is £46,148 - £52,809 per annum, pro rata, based on the UK national average salary range for a Band 7 Physiotherapist in the NHS.
