Wood is currently seeking a Senior and Principal Environmental Engineer to provide technical services to our Technical HSE Team based in Reading.

The role will involve working alongside the Design HSE Group, within the Engineering Department, and collaborating with the Group Manager Design HSE. The department is part of the New Energies business of Wood.

Key requirements include:

  • A degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Chemical or Process Engineering.
  • Membership of a recognised professional institution.
  • Technical competence in core Environmental Engineering subject areas, including Emissions Quantification, Dispersion Modelling, Best Available Technology (BAT) Analysis, Risk Assessments, and Working knowledge of applicable international standards.
  • Experience in the application of Environmental Engineering within a design setting, likely involving Oil and Gas, Petrochemical and Refining, LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), Carbon Capture/Hydrogen Production.
  • Analytical and conceptual thinking skills, ability to manage own work and the work of others, plus a strong customer focus and team-working skills.
  • Ability to work to agreed delivery dates while collaborating with others in multifunctional teams.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in Environmental Engineering or Sustainability.
  • Experience of working in the process industry and energy, oil and gas, refining and petrochemical sectors.
  • Leadership skills and experience.
  • Commercial awareness.
