Job Summary

Sewell Wallis Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join their team in the Construction sector. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for preparing financial accounts, taking ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, and implementing financial controls and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial accounts and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Implement and manage financial controls and risk management processes
  • Assist with group reporting and provide financial insights to senior stakeholders
  • Support the delivery of continuous process and control improvements
  • Prepare VAT returns and support tax reporting and compliance
  • Collaborate with the wider finance team to achieve business objectives

Requirements

  • Fully qualified Accountant, ideally ACA / ACCA with a strong financial accounting and controls background
  • Experience working in a technical accounting role, preferably in the Construction sector
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
  • Ambitious individual with a strong desire to learn and grow with the company
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data
