Job Title: Lead Children's Nursing Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled children's nurse to take on a senior leadership role at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. As Lead Children's Nursing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality care to children and young people across our hospitals and community services.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in children's nursing, with a strong background in leadership and management. You will be accountable for ensuring the safe and effective delivery of care, as well as driving improvements in patient outcomes and experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide strategic leadership and direction to the children's nursing teams, ensuring delivery of high-quality care that meets the needs of our patients.
  2. Be accountable for the standard of nursing care and clinical environment within the designated area of responsibility, working collaboratively with clinical teams to maintain high standards of care.
  3. Deliver direct patient care on a regular basis, meeting the requirements of a registered nurse/midwife, including assessment, care planning, and evaluation of care.
  4. Provide effective line management of Senior Sisters/Charge Nurses/Team Leaders within the area for which you are responsible, supporting a culture of consciousness to deliver financial balance and achieve efficiencies.

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust operates from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises.

The trust provides a range of general hospital services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various Consultant-led services. Our community services for adults are provided in people's homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals, and our main hospitals.
