About the Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Commissioning Officer to join our team and contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of commissioning plans to deliver the Council's strategic and operational direction for children and young people.

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to contribute to the joint commissioning agenda to improve delivery and outcomes of commissioned services, with a special focus on SEND and Alternative Education Provision.

  1. Contribute to the development and implementation of commissioning plans that address sufficiency issues within SEND and Alternative Provision.
  2. Provide support to commissioning managers who have responsibility for producing and reviewing strategies related to children's services.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of commissioning plans to ensure delivery of high-quality services for children and young people.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify and address sufficiency issues within SEND and Alternative Provision.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Experience of commissioning projects, including needs assessment, performance management, and monitoring and review reporting.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft packages.

Working Conditions:

  • Temporary assignment, initially 6 months with potential extension.
  • Full UK driving licence required.

Remuneration:

£37,500 - £42,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits.
