Job Title: Driver Assistant Mobile Libraries

About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and outgoing team member to deliver our streamlined mobile library service from our headquarters at Melton. As part of our team, you will provide a professional, high-quality, customer-focused mobile library and information service for local residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a mobile library service to scheduled locations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of resources.
  • Undertake daily compliance checks on the vehicle and maintain the service to the published schedule.
  • Provide front-line counter duties, including enquiry work using book-based and online resources, and assist the public in making full use of the mobile library service.
  • Contribute to and participate in activities and events for adults and children, promoting literacy and a love of reading.
  • Shelve and maintain stock, and perform general day-to-day administration tasks.

Requirements:

  • Excellent customer care skills and a genuine enthusiasm for working with all age ranges and sectors of the public.
  • The ability to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction by responding to individual and diverse customer needs in a timely and sensitive manner.
  • A valid LGV Class C Licence and CPC card.

Working Environment:

The role can be physically demanding, especially when single-staffing. You will be driving around the East Riding, assisting customers, moving library stock to and from shelves, restocking display areas, and loading/unloading crates of library materials. Stock work is a key responsibility of this post.
