Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and organised Clinical Secretary to join our team in the Surgical & Critical Care ward at University Hospital Hairmyres.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support to clinicians, enabling them to operate effectively and efficiently. The role involves working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.

What We Offer
We offer an attractive salary package of £27,000 - £33,600 per annum, depending on experience, along with a minimum of 27 days annual leave increasing with length of service (pro-rata for part-time staff). Key Responsibilities
- Providing administrative support to clinicians, including preparing documents, maintaining records, and coordinating appointments.
- Working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and best practices in clinical administration.
- Developing and maintaining knowledge of medical terminology and relevant IT systems.
- Collaborating with colleagues to achieve departmental objectives and improve patient outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- SQM level 2 qualification or equivalent experience in healthcare administration or secretarial roles.
- Understanding of medical terminology and ability to develop this knowledge further.
- Strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively with clinicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
