About the Role

The University of Leicester is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Translational Research Technician to support the Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC) in delivering projects that drive the discovery, development, and testing of new cancer treatments.

As a key member of the ECMC team, you will be responsible for supporting all aspects of tissue collection activities, including post-collection processing of tissue in the laboratory to good clinical laboratory practice (GCLP) standards.

You will also provide support for running and maintenance of GCLP labs, including equipment monitoring and ordering, as well as training and support for staff and students involved in handling human tissues.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Experience working with human tissues and a working knowledge of regulatory requirements are highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support tissue collection activities and post-collection processing of tissue in the laboratory
  • Provide support for running and maintenance of GCLP labs
  • Train and support staff and students involved in handling human tissues
