About the Role:

The Diabetes Research Centre and NIHR Leicester Biomedical Research Centre are seeking a skilled statistician to contribute to a research team working on type 1 diabetes and technology. The appointed individual will be part of a programme of work led by Prof Pratik Choudhary and supported by the Leicester Real World Evidence Unit.

The successful candidate will contribute to the real-world evidence for decisions in diabetes (REDDIE) project, running novel analyses on large real-world datasets including the National Diabetes Audit. Opportunities exist to collaborate with European partners and contribute to a range of ongoing projects in type 1 diabetes and technology.

We welcome applications from individuals with various backgrounds and expertise relevant to the topic area, with enthusiasm for the topic and the ability to learn and synthesise evidence. Training and support will be provided to develop skills in new areas.

The appointed individual will be based at the Leicester Diabetes Centre, an internationally recognised centre for research in the prevention and management of diabetes and other long-term conditions.

About You: As a Research Associate, you will have a PhD in a relevant discipline alongside evidence of contributing independently to experimental or translational research studies and peer-reviewed journal publications. You will have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary research team.
