About the Role

TimePlan Education is seeking an experienced SEMH Teacher to join a dedicated and compassionate team at a primary school in Islington. As an SEMH Specialist Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, tailored teaching for students with SEMH needs in line with the curriculum.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and other professionals to develop and implement individualised support plans.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular reports to parents, carers, and staff.
  • Establish positive relationships with students to support their emotional and social development.
  • Manage challenging behaviours with sensitivity and consistency.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with children with SEMH needs in a primary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities that arise when working with SEMH children.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills and a calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • The ability to adapt and differentiate teaching methods to suit individual learning needs.

Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum.
