Future Education is seeking a qualified and experienced MPS/UPS teacher to join our team as a Specialist Teacher SEMH.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work with small class sizes, typically up to 5 children per class, with 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support the SEMH Teacher and children in class.

We offer a competitive salary of £40,609 to £60,092 per annum, plus additional benefits for our successful applicants.

About the Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who have SEMH needs, including those with Autism and challenging behaviours.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH and Autism.
  • Fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the social and emotional well-being of all students.
  • Managing challenging behaviours using effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with either PGCE / Teach First / ITT / Cert Ed.
  • Taught the UK curriculum in your chosen subject(s) at secondary level.
  • Experience working in a PRU / Alternative Provision / Secondary School / SEMH School or Behaviour Provision.
  • Proven experience working with pupils with SEMH and Autism.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to handle challenging behaviours calmly and effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
