Lead Clinical Nurse
Location: Lancashire
Compensation: £ - £ per hour
Work Schedule: 3 days a week, including weekends.

Brainkind is a charitable organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals affected by brain injuries across the UK. Our facilities, including assessment centers and rehabilitation units, employ specialized neurorehabilitation techniques to assist individuals in reclaiming lost skills. We cater to a diverse range of brain injuries resulting from various causes, including trauma and illness, to facilitate recovery and personal growth. Our staff are deeply committed to their roles, fostering a collaborative team environment where colleagues support one another.
Key Responsibilities:
The Lead Clinical Nurse will:
- Oversee a team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, holistic care for service users.
- Implement effective performance management strategies for clinical staff, adhering to Brainkind's policies regarding recruitment, training, supervision, and performance evaluation.
- Facilitate participation of service users and their families in care planning and review processes.
- Maintain open communication and collaboration with all departments, both internal and external to Brainkind.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess:
- NMC Registration as a Nurse with relevant post-registration clinical experience.
- Completion of NMC accredited mentor training or a willingness to complete such training.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven leadership abilities in a clinical environment.
- Knowledge of current regulations within the independent care sector.
- Expertise in best practices for the relevant client group.
- Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex information to service users and their families.
- Ability to manage conflict and facilitate change effectively.
- Experience in providing mentorship and education in a clinical setting.
Accountability:
The Lead Clinical Nurse will be responsible for:
- Ensuring adequate staffing levels and effective duty rosters.
- Assessing and managing risks to safeguard both staff and service users.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of nursing practices and services.
- Maintaining compliance with Brainkind's policies and procedures.
