Direct Procurement Specialist

Clinigen is seeking an experienced Direct Procurement Manager to join their team. As a key member of the Sourcing & Procurement Capability, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the purchasing and procurement process for medicines.
Job Description:You will be responsible for ensuring the timely, efficient, and cost-effective acquisition of products, achieving a balance between product availability and cost-effectiveness. This includes leading a team of buyers, implementing procurement strategies, and developing operational relationships with key vendors for Clinigen's Direct Spend. A strategic advisor to Senior Management, providing guidance on procurement activities, performance metrics, cost savings, risks, and opportunities within the supply lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:- Purchasing and Procurement Strategy Development: Develop and maintain strategies to deliver cost savings, cost avoidance, and efficiencies in the procure-to-pay cycle.
- Collaboration and Cross-Functional Teamwork: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to make strategic decisions and implement best practices within the purchasing function.
- Procurement Metrics and Reporting: Develop and maintain procurement metrics to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and report on purchasing effectiveness.
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead a team of buyers and provide guidance on procurement activities, performance metrics, cost savings, risks, and opportunities within the supply lifecycle.
- Inventory Management and Analysis: Work closely with relevant product/portfolio supply teams to monitor inventory levels, analyze demand patterns, and implement inventory management strategies to manage stock levels and avoid shortages or excesses.
- End-to-End Purchasing Journey Improvement: Monitor and improve the end-to-end purchasing journey from signalling demand to delivering products.
Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
