We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Alcohol Liaison Nurse to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As an Alcohol Liaison Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing specialist advice and guidance to patients presenting with alcohol-related issues.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients with alcohol-related issues and provide timely and effective interventions to reduce harm and promote recovery.
- Work closely with Emergency Department colleagues to identify and divert patients to more appropriate community-based services.
- Develop and maintain a local database system to evaluate the service and inform future improvements.
- Contribute to the development of policies and practices related to substance misuse and alcohol treatment.
- Provide specialist education and training to multidisciplinary teams, including delivering a teaching package to ED staff.
- Collaborate with other hospital liaison staff to contribute to the development of policies and practices.
- Assist in the evaluation of the service and identify areas for improvement.
- Essential:
- Education to degree level or equivalent experience.
- Desirable:
- Previous experience in supporting patients with drug and alcohol issues.
