Job Summary

The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to join our Alcohol Care Team as an Alcohol Liaison Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and contribute to the development of evidence-based practices in the field of substance misuse.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients with alcohol-related issues, providing timely and effective interventions to reduce harm and promote recovery.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring seamless transitions between hospital and community services.
  • Provide education and training to healthcare professionals on alcohol misuse, harm reduction, and treatment options.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of clinical guidelines, policies, and protocols related to substance misuse.
  • Work closely with colleagues to identify and address education and training needs, ensuring a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements
  • Education to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in supporting patients with drug and alcohol issues is desirable.
