About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Child Psychologist to join our dynamic team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. As a specialist in paediatric psychology, you will play a crucial role in providing expert assessment and intervention services to children with diabetes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop tailored interventions to support children with diabetes and their families.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records, adhering to trust policies and procedures.
Person Specification
  • Doctoral level training in clinical psychology or equivalent, with post-qualification experience working with children with long-term conditions.
  • Knowledge of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and systemic therapy principles.
  • Familiarity with the emotional effects of chronic illnesses on children and adolescents.
