Job Summary

CRA GROUP RECRUITMENT AND PAYROLL LTD is seeking a highly skilled Attendance Support Specialist to join their Education Welfare Service.

About the Role

This term-time only position requires a dedicated individual with experience in delivering an Education Welfare Service. As an Attendance Support Specialist, you will work closely with schools and other agencies to promote regular attendance and address family needs that impact on school attendance.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the education system, particularly in relation to school attendance, and be able to work independently while managing a demanding workload. The role involves operating as part of an integrated Education Welfare team, working in close collaboration with Schools, educational settings, and other agencies to deliver the Local Authority's statutory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and follow-up children who show high levels of absenteeism from school, taking appropriate action to bring attendance levels back to acceptable standards.
  • Provide expert advice, guidance, and support on matters regarding child employment, child entertainment licences, and Chaperone referrals.
  • Ensure all cases are properly and accurately recorded, processed, and assessed in line with Enfield's systems and procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Previous experience as an Educational Welfare Officer or School Attendance Experience is essential.
  • Practical experience of delivering an Education Welfare Service is essential.
  • A relevant degree and/or professional qualification, or work experience of at least equivalent level is essential.

This role offers a competitive salary of approximately £34,000 per annum and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families in the local community.
