NHS Scotland is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Forensic Occupational Therapist to join our Forensic Community Learning Disabilities team. The successful candidate will be an independent expert forensic practitioner managing a variety of conditions which are often complex and challenging. The post holder will provide specialist occupational therapy clinical lead within a designated area, involving specialist assessment, treatment and evaluation on the efficacy of service user care, both individually and in groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist professional advice to other disciplines, carers and agencies.
  • Engage with the wider multi-disciplinary team and work across agencies to deliver packages of care in the role of occupational therapist.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and development of the occupational therapy service within their designated area with reference to clinical governance, clinical effectiveness and national policies and drivers.
  • Lead on departmental and team projects.
  • Be responsible for the day to day management of junior staff as part of supervision systems, including clinical workload and supervision of under and post graduate pre-registration students as required.

Requirements:

  • Registered with the HCPC.
  • Driving licence is essential for this post due to the wide geographical area covered across the whole of NHSGGC.
