About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Systems Specialist to join our Technology team at the Cumberland Building Society. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering and assisting with database-related services, including incident management, problem management, and implementation of changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 3rd line support on Technology Infrastructure systems, ensuring agreed SLAs are met.
  • Identify, propose, and document continuous improvement of hardware and software and processes within the department.
  • Ensure disaster preparedness, secure backup and recovery methods to protect against system disruptions.
  • Recommend improvements or alternative technologies to better meet business needs.
  • Contribute towards the day-to-day support and administration of the databases and associated environments.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Database Systems Specialist with a strong background in database technologies and administration, including Oracle 19c. You should have a good understanding of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring tools and standards. Additionally, you should have knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, batch scripting, and experience working in a regulated sector.
