Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Avionics Design Engineer to join our team at Airbus Helicopters in Oxford, UK. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for providing design leadership for concept and integration of avionic systems to meet customer requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Avionic Design and Integration: Define avionic design concept and integration from agreed customer requirement through to detail design, ensuring that design meets customer and certification requirements within a formal validation and verification process.
  • Customer Requirements: Capture and understand customer requirements, providing guidance internally and externally to facilitate a cost-effective design and production solution.
  • Design Leadership: Provide design leadership for concept and integration of avionic systems to meet customer requirements and translate proposed concept into detailed design in compliance with certification requirements.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate and manage all avionic activities in concert with business requirements within a multi-function environment, discussing and presenting design concepts and solutions during customer and supplier meetings.
Requirements:
  • Education and Qualifications: Engineering degree or equivalent, with a good aviation background based in the Avionics discipline.
  • Skills and Experience: A detailed engineering knowledge and aircraft avionics systems preferably with a helicopter bias, with experience using design lifecycle and configuration management tools.
  • Security Clearance: Due to the nature of this position, you will require DBS Security Clearance and be eligible for SC clearance.
